Wow. It’s hard to believe I’m writing this post, huh? I don’t know if this will be my last outfit post, or my last SIA participation post or what. I just know that, like many of my posts, I had grand plans that didn’t come to fruition.
As a reminder, here’s some backstory on the art we’re interpreting this week.
There’s a restaurant down the street from us that has beautiful flowers painted on their windows. I thought it would be a nice nod to the “rainbow” in the title of this week’s art.
However, the temps were in the low 30s and my photographer (aka husband) wasn’t feeling like walking over there. So, we took photos in the backyard.
I knew I wanted to incorporate some red since there are pops of red in the art. I knew I wanted gray or black. And I knew I wanted tan. I saw this top hanging in my closet and thought the pattern mimicked the brush strokes in the painting.
Add in the tan booties that I got at a recent clothing swap and I got in all the colors I wanted!
Of course, we can’t have an outfit post without a Chewie cameo!
I hope that you continue to follow my two Style Imitating Art co-hosts (Jen and Salazar) and I have a feeling that I’ll be showing up there occasionally, even if it’s bathroom mirror selfies. I’ve loved working with these two women and I will continue to support them however I can.
